Can i use a regular sewing machine for embroidery?

I have a brother LS-30 sewing machine and i was wondering if i can also do embroidery with it? Is it able to work with embroidery thread? I'm starting a monogramming business soon and I really need to know. If i can't use my brother sewing machine, then what are good embroidery machine that are abour $200-$350?
