Why do high-end designers plaster their monogram over their clothes?

you're paying for that little monogram really, i agree it's not really a status symbol anymore in fact it's the opposite nobody knows if its fake or real anymore it just shouts chav very loudly. the more discreet the label the better along with good workmanship that speaks volumes rather in your face tags these days for me.
